Webkinz

Benjamin and his cousin Nathaniel were playing Webkinz with each other this morning. You can see the phone leaning on the monitor. They played and mommy got some time on the treadmill.
July 18th~ busy day.
the Southern Living at HOME box is now a drive-in theater. See the black speaker/headphones attached to the front of the box and the remote in hand.

He made puppets with faces of mommy, daddy and this is his.

July 17th~Hip Hop Dance Party
Benjamin asked me to help him with this note.

The Hip-Hop Dance Machine - cardboard from a Southern Living at HOME delivery
The "married closet"~he calls it that because there are a few things from our wedding in this cabinet.
July 16th~ Field Trip to the Page Museum & La Brea Tarpits in Los Angeles.
Yesterday we came home from the desert and today we drove to downtown Los Angeles and met wonderful friends from Santa Barbara at the La Brea Tarpits. It was really a great afternoon.

It does amaze me that there are pits of bubbling tar in downtown LA.
July 15th~ Last day at the resort. Such a wonderful time.
Happy 8th Birthday Nathaniel!

July 14th~More Indian Wells - Renessaince Esmerelda Resort

The raft was a must have according to my son...but he has zero ability to be able to lay on it and relax. The moment we got him settled he rolled right off. Granted that was a lot of fun.

July 13th~ Indian Wells/Palm Springs, CA
the three of us took a trip to the desert to swim, relax, play and just have fun together. We made a stop in the San Bernadino Mountains/desert to look at the view.

You would have thought the boy had never been in hotel. He loved the big soft bed, the remote control for the tv and the idea of room service.
The view towards the pool. Dry desert heat in July=109 - 111.
Benjamin and I went to play tennis and then stopped at the pool (hence his swim shirt and shorts).

How do you get a FIVE year old to focus? ! ?

Don't get me wrong... I absolutely LOVE summer. Days full of friends, fun, boogey boarding at the beach, swimming pools, yummy fruit, sprinklers, slip-n-slides and beautiful sunny days. BUT ~ what about those days when you need to get some stuff done around the house. How do you get your five year old son to sit still and be entertained. UGH.We had a great afternoon (or half an hour) putting together the easy lift elevator with TinkerToys.
July 10
Beach fun ~ sun, sand, boogey boarding, friends, building castles and pools: what more could you ask for.
